For the minimum money you spend, you can have peace of mind that help is never far away. Whether it’s a flat tyre, dead battery, no fuel, breakdown, even if you have lost your car keys or locked them in your car, Roadside Assist will get you moving again. To get help it’s as simple as making a phone call. Our friendly and knowledgeable operators will assess and co-ordinate the appropriate service provider to assist you, while making sure you and your family are safe.

Call 1300 271 431, have your Vehicle’s registration details, your contact details and your Roadside Assist number (it’s on the card), ready. Our friendly Roadside Assist Operations Co-Ordinator will, confirm your details, ask what the issue is, where you are and check if you are safe. They will then co-ordinate assistance in line with these terms and conditions.
Once you have called for assistance, it is important that you remain with your Vehicle if it is safe to do so. Do not stand on the roadway or in traffic and turn the hazard lights on if possible. Should Roadside Assist arrive at the scene of the Breakdown and the Vehicle is unattended, we will be unable to a carry out any work and payment may be required for any subsequent request for assistance with the same incident. If you require assistance but have left your Vehicle for safety (or any) reasons, you must advise the Roadside Assist Operations Co-Ordinator at the time of the initial call.
Roadside Assist Operations Co-Ordinators may provide general technical advice, over the phone, about the operation of your vehicle that may assist you to mobilise your vehicle. Such advice may include but is not limited to any safety warnings or lights that may appear, or technical and mechanical information regarding the Vehicle.
If our Operations Co-Ordinator is unable to assist you over the telephone, Roadside Assist will dispatch a Service Provider who may carry out minor roadside repairs on your Vehicle to facilitate the immediate mobilisation of the Vehicle.
Roadside Assist will rectify, where it is possible and safe to do so at the roadside, common Breakdown related problems such as inflation of a flat tyre, replacement of a flat tyre with the Vehicle’s Serviceable Spare and jump-starting of a flat battery.
However, if major parts or factory diagnostic equipment are required, the Vehicle will be transported to the nearest Nominated Repairer. If your Vehicle is transported, Roadside Assist is not responsible for any costs for work carried out by a Nominated Repairer and all repairs and costs are your responsibility.
Roadside Assist may arrange for the supply and fitment of emergency parts to effect mobilisation of a Vehicle. You will be responsible for all costs of all parts used, such as, hoses, fluids, lubricants, nuts, bolts, electrical components, etc.
Roadside Assist will provide a “jump start” and any other practical assistance at the roadside to start the Vehicle. Where the vehicle cannot be made mobile at the roadside and where a new battery is required, the mobile delivery of a replacement battery will be arranged at your expense or the Vehicle will be towed to a Nominated Repairer.
If your vehicle has a flat tyre, we will change it with your Serviceable Spare tyre, or if necessary transport the Vehicle to the Nominated Repairer. Should additional services be required beyond this due to multiple flat tyres, the spare tyre being unserviceable, replacement wheel studs/nuts not being available or locking wheel nut key not available, towing will be provided up to the towing limits specified below.
Roadside Assist will arrange for either the delivery of an emergency supply of fuel where able to, and where government regulations permit, or transport the Vehicle to the nearest refueling station. You will be responsible for the cost of fuel supplied.
Lost or Locked Keys
Where the key has been lost or stolen, or has been locked inside the Vehicle, subject to proof of ownership, Roadside Assist will either arrange for the spare key to be delivered to you or arrange for a locksmith to attend.
In the event You insist the Vehicle be broken into to recover keys locked inside the Vehicle, neither Roadside Assist nor the Service Provider will, under any circumstances, be responsible for any loss or damage that occurs to the Vehicle as a result. Due to Service Provider limitations, this service may not be available in all cases.
You will be responsible for any costs in excess of $150 incl GST incurred in the provision of this additional service. If the cost of the service is in excess of $150 incl GST, you will be required to pay in full at time of this additional service and will then be paid up to $150 incl GST by reimbursement.
In the event the Your Vehicle is immobilised or is not safe to drive, Roadside Assist will transport the Vehicle to a Nominated Repairer. The included towing allowance will be twenty five (25) kilometres in metropolitan areas, and one hundred (100) kilometres all other areas. You will be responsible for all towing costs in excess of the agreed distance entitlement in line with attending service provider rate.
You must inform us at the time of the original breakdown call that you are towing a trailer or caravan, as you may be liable, at the time of service, for any additional specialist activities required in the act of transporting any towed trailer, caravan or vehicle that is not covered Roadside Assist.
If the Vehicle is towed and stored after hours at a secure facility, You will be liable for cost of any applicable storage charges and the subsequent second tow.
Only one vehicle can be registered per each activation on the Roadside Assist website.
This Roadside Assist is not an insurance contract, vehicle extended warranty or personal injury contract but rather an agreement to provide limited services in certain circumstances. Those circumstances are as set out above.
Any attempt to bundle Roadside Assist with any form of Insurance will be null and void.
Roadside Assist Operations Co-Ordinator will be available by telephone in English only.
To the extent permitted by law, Roadside Assist will not be liable to any person for any indirect, special or consequential loss or damage in connection with the Roadside Assist whether in contract, tort (including negligence) , statute or otherwise.
Provision of service can be denied where the Customer has requested Services in respect of a vehicle more frequently than is reasonable as determined by Us.
a) Modified for racing, trials, or rallying or any Accident or any claim for Service has arisen in respect of such races, trails, rallies or participation in such activities;
b) Carrying more passengers or towing a greater weight than that for which it was designed as stated in the manufacturers specifications or arising from or connection with the improper, unauthorised, reckless or negligent operation of the Vehicle or misuse of the Vehicle;
c) Not regularly serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions;
d) Not being registered on the Roadside Assist system where customer data is stored;
f) Outside the Service Area;
g) Is unattended;
h) Bogged, except where access is available and is trafficable by a two-wheel drive recovery vehicle and no other specialist equipment is necessary. Should specialist equipment and/or towing become necessary you shall be responsible for all costs. Drivers will be advised of this condition before the service is provided and provision of this service is at our discretion.
i) (i) are rented or hired; (ii) are taxis or limousines (iii) are over 3.0 tonnes;
j) Containing animals or livestock;
k) Carrying dangerous goods as defined under the Dangerous Goods Act 1985 (Vic) including explosive, flammable, combustible, toxic, radioactive, corrosive or other dangerous goods.
l) Vehicles driven by a person who does not hold a valid licence issued by a competent authority.
a) Mechanical Breakdown due driver negligence (including but not limited to filling the fuel system with the incorrect fuel type), deliberate mis-use or failure to repair known Vehicle faults. In such cases, assistance will still be provided however the Customer shall be responsible for all costs;
b) Or connected with a Vehicle manufacturer’s recall;
c) Unauthorised repairs or from faulty workmanship;
d) The fitting of accessories to the Vehicle which are not genuine or are not from the original manufacturer or which are not approved by the manufacturer;
e) The vehicle being involved in an accident with another vehicle or object or an attempted break in or theft of the vehicle;
f) Where the Vehicle is immobile in a workshop undergoing repairs or undergoing mechanical or electrical repairs at the Customers’ premises.
